Barcelona shopping trip: top brands at El Prat International Airport

When going through Josep Tarradellas / Barcelona – El Prat airport (BCN), whether it is because we are having layover or because we are either flying out of or arriving in the city, there is a wide array of branded stores awaiting travellers in its two passenger terminals.

If you are a fashion addict and are currently planning your stay in Barcelona, you may be wondering which shops you will find at El Prat T1 and T2, so we have sorted them out below according to popularity and the area where they are located. Their standard opening hours are 6:00-21:30 Monday through Sunday.

Fashion shops in Barcelona airport (Josep Tarradellas – El Prat)

Many passengers look for Desigual stores in Barcelona airport: there are two stores in Terminal 2 (one next to the R boarding gates and another one in boarding area U), and one store in the Shopping Centre of the departures area, easily spotted from the escalators on your way down after passing through security.

Mango is also a much sought-after brand which can be found in the Shopping centre of the departures hall (with exclusive stores for women, men and kids) as well as in boarding area U of Terminal 2 with two stores offering the collections for women and men respectively. Tous jewellery can be purchased in T1 at the Shopping Centre, along with the latest trends by Zara.

And if you feel that a lacy lingerie set will be your best souvenir from Barcelona city, there are two Victoria’s Secret stores at El Prat Airport: one of them located in the Departures area of T1 (you’ll spot it right under the Vip Lounges) and another one in T2, next to the W boarding gates.

Shopping in the Arrivals area of Barcelona airport

-Non-restricted area/arrivals of T1: there are some shops that are worth being highlighted in the arrivals lounge, and these are Custo, Items d’Ho (which comes in handy selling top quality carry-on bags and suitcases) and Tascón (with a great selection of international shoe brands).

Shopping after security of El Prat – BCN airport

-The Shopping Centre after the security control in T1: when you are in Barcelona airport, the retail therapy begins just as we step off the escalator taking us from the public zone to the passenger-restricted area in terminal 1 thanks to stores like Accessorize, Adidas, Burberry, Adolfo Domínguez, Calzedonia, Carolina Herrera, Uterqüe, La Perla, Oysho (next to gates B) and Massimo Dutti.

-Boarding areas U and W of T2: if our designated gate is either in the U or W area, we will still be in time to purchase something from Claire’s, Items d’Ho or U Adolfo Domínguez. Moreover, the “Collection by World Duty Free” store next to gates W gathers some of the best fashion brands of the moment.

If you are travelling to Catalonia and want to benefit from the good quality and prices of its luxury shopping offer during your stay, we recommend you visit the stores in Passeig de Gracia, which include brands such as Camper, Rolex, Aristocrazy, Chopard, Cartier, Diesel, Dior, Emporio Armani, Escada, Guess, Jimmy Choo, Lacoste, Liu·Jo, Loewe, Longchamp, Louis Vuitton, MaxMara, Michael Kors, Pinko, Replay, Stella McCartney and Swarovski.
